What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Contact and Class Registration forms

This site uses Jotform to make it easy for you to contact us. Jotform complies with GDPR Privacy Regulations for storing data. Information you give us is protected with encryption at rest and in transit. You may contact us at any time requesting that we delete your information and this data will be permanently removed from our Jotform account storage. The data is not used for marketing purposes other than to contact you via direct individual email or phone call.

This site uses Jotform to collect information relating to classes you register for. All forms that you choose to complete ask for your explicit consent to collect and store the data you provide. None of this data is shared with any outside source for marketing or any other purpose other than the following:

When you register for a class, your name, address, phone, and email address are collected. This information is used to facilitate communication between teacher and student. It is also shared with the International Center for Reiki Training (ICRT) Reiki Membership Organization for registration purposes. The ICRT has Privacy Policies in place.

At any time, you may contact us and request a copy of this data as well as ask us to remove your data.

Online Scheduling

This site uses Vagaro to facilitate online booking sessions with our Practitioners. Vagaro complies with GDPR Privacy Regulations for storing data and information you give us. We have signed the International Data Transfer Agreement that outlines our agreement to adequate safety guards with respect to the protection of privacy and fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals for the transfer of personal data. At any time, you may contact us and request a copy of this data as well as ask us to remove your data.

Cookies

To enhance the performance and functionality of our site, we may use session and persistent “cookies” that store a small text file on your computer and collect certain information about your visit to our site. Personal Data is not in stored in the cookies used on our website.

A “session” cookie is stored only in your computer’s working memory (RAM) and only lasts for your browsing session. It is used for server performance tracking.  When you close all your browser’s windows, or when you shut down your computer, the session cookie disappears forever.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

We may use third-party click tracking analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to capture click through statistics.

When you visit our website, the server housing the pages automatically generates a “session log.” We use session logs to help us determine how people travel through our site. By tracking page visits, we can also determine if the information we’re providing is being used. Subscribing to our Newsletter

When you choose to subscribe to our Newsletter, your information and preferences are stored in MailChimp. This information is never shared with anyone. Every email we send you from MailChimp has a link where you can unsubscribe.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
